Are you a dedicated and compassionate counsellor looking to make a difference in addiction services? We are seeking a qualified Addiction Counsellor to provide high-quality counselling interventions to individuals and groups affected by addiction-related issues.

Job Title: Addiction Counsellor
Location: Galway, Roscommon, Castlebar
Contract Type: Full-time- Temporary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling to clients with addiction-related challenges.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and facilitate care strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with healthcare professionals.
  • Refer clients to appropriate treatment facilities and support services.
  • Maintain clinical records and contribute to service development initiatives.
  • Work in accordance with the principles laid out in the National Drug Rehabilitation Framework.

Requirements:

  • A Level 7+ qualification in counselling/psychotherapy.
  • Accreditation with ACI, IACP, or ICP (or an equivalent body).
  • Demonstrate depth and breadth of counselling experience with adults/young people in a variety of settings as relevant to the role.
  • Strong knowledge of addiction treatment, dual diagnosis, and child protection policies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Access to own vehicle, and full clean driver's license.
