We currently have a requirement for a Lead Technologist to join our New Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny site. The following is required for this role:

***Please note we are building a talent pipeline for a Lead Technologist position due to start in late 2024**

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan, implement and lead complex science and technical projects including product/process innovations supporting Sensor Manufacturing.
  2. Deliver high quality science and technology whilst ensuring compliance with respective regulatory and quality requirements.
  3. Ability to build relationships and manage technical activities, including aligning technology with manufacturing science and operations teams.
  4. Lead and participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams for troubleshooting and complex scientific investigations.
  5. Seek opportunities for significant process or product improvements/innovations.
  6. Act as a scientific expert, providing scientific support and knowledge. Apply specialized knowledge of product and process design.
  7. Present complex technical information to internal and external groups. Share scientific information and expertise. Experience in mentoring and teaching others to facilitate timely resolution of product and process technical issues.
  8. Recognize adverse trends and emerging issues. Propose and implement solutions to internal and external issues.
  9. Translate top-level goals to specific goals and align activities with respective strategic business priorities.
  10. Develop and maintain project timelines and provide updates and feedback to leadership.
  11. Lead with the evaluation and due diligence of external innovation opportunities.

Education & Experience

  1. Experience and knowledge of Sensor Manufacturing is desirable.
  2. Minimum of 4 years' people management experience in a technical capacity in medical device or pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
  3. Self-motivated and significant project experience with an ability to influence others are essential.
  4. Demonstrated ability to fully realize improvement initiatives.
  5. Demonstrated successes in a team environment, such as project teams, problem-solving teams, etc.
  6. Strong technical knowledge of design control process and experience of leading technology transfers.
  7. Advanced leadership skills in order to build an effective team by providing clear direction and defining priorities.
  8. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
