Laboratory Technician – Kilkenny City

Leading employer in the Southeast region has an opportunity for an ambitious Laboratory Technician to join their growing team. The successful individual will maintain quality standards by performing QC inspections in the manufacturing facility and also perform in-process tests on raw materials and finished products.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ years’ experience of working in a manufacturing environment, ideally with a good knowledge of Quality Management Systems.

The successful individual will ideally have the following:

  1. Science degree or equivalent.
  2. Highly organised with good time management skills.
  3. Good IT and excellent attention to detail skills.
  4. Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  1. Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS), master certificates and raw material data sheets.
  2. Perform daily calibrations on laboratory equipment and measurement devices.
  3. Maintain Food Safety & Quality Management Systems including ISO 9001, HACCP and customers’ standards together with all quality and regulatory documentation relevant to the company.
  4. Ensure raw material, in-process and finished product testing is completed and verified as per product specification.
  5. Request, review and file certificates of analysis for all raw materials received.
  6. Conduct routine Quality Control checks across the site to verify compliance with specifications.
  7. Co-ordinate and investigate customer complaints and record as per procedure.
  8. Implement Change Control and maintain appropriate documentation as per procedure.
  9. Report non-conformances and implement corrective and preventative actions.
