Beech Lodge Care Facility is looking for a full-time Activities Co-ordinator / Social Care Practitioner to provide meaningful activities to the residents of our busy Care Facility. If you like working with people and enjoy a varied hands-on role, this is for you You will aspire to lead and encourage residents to join in meaningful activities whilst maintaining their independence, choice, and dignity, enabling them to lead as full and active a life as possible.

You will create a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events inside and outside the home for residents to enjoy.

This person must ensure our residents' privacy and dignity at all times.

Candidate must:
  • Enjoy working with older people
  • Be a committed, patient, and caring person with a sense of humor and a positive outlook on life
  • Be highly motivated and possess excellent communication skills to deliver activity programmes to a range of people with different abilities
  • Have the ability to work well in a team and liaise with other staff, volunteers, and residents
  • Possess excellent teaching skills
  • Be enthusiastic, caring, reliable, and empathetic
  • Have strong organisational and time management skills
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Create and maintain a weekly and daily social activity calendar for our residents
  • Ensure all residents receive some form of social activity each week
  • Promote and enhance the existence of the home in the community and encourage the use of communal spaces within Beech Lodge for groups to meet and hold events
  • Work as a team member within the home
  • Perform escort duties where required
  • Organize activities to include bingo, gardening, arts and crafts, mass, and outings
