Role Profile Based in Ballyragget & reporting to the QC Microbiology Laboratory Manager, the role will involve working with a dedicated team of Technicians, Quality Managers and related staff to carry out a range of microbiological analysis of food products. The successful candidate will be based in the laboratories at Ballyragget. Candidates with experience/aptitude in microbiology will be considered. Key Responsibilities Analysis of a range of dairy products including cheese, butter and dairy powders, using approved analytical methods Ensure compliance to the internationally recognised approved standard. Successful implementation and participation in internal and external proficiency testing Microbiological methods including both traditional plate, ISO etc and rapid micro. Microbiological testing of water Using LIMS to carry out all lab activities Review and document lab investigations as part of the CAPA programme Validation of approved test methods and commissioning of new instruments / project works Sample management: sampling, receipt, preparation Adhere to the Tirln health and safety policies and contribute to its improvements Training of new Technician team members Complete other QC related business needs as/if they occur Key Requirements BSc in Food Science, Science, related discipline or equivalent experience A strong communicator and ability to work effectively as part of a team Excellent IT skills, experience of LIMS and statistical analysis desirable An ability to interpret test data and problem-solving skills Good organisational ability and attention to detail Desire to do further relevant training and improvement. Proven ability to work with their own initiative and within a team Track record of Lean Manufacturing and 5S an advantage We offer Free parking incl.
