Christmas Appeal Temp Administrator (6 weeks - 37.5 hours)

Location: Dublin

Description:

SVP is a large, national, voluntary organisation with extensive experience of working with a diverse range of people who experience poverty and exclusion. Through its network of over 12,000 volunteers and 700 staff, it is strongly committed to working for social justice and advocates the creation of a more just and caring society. SVP employs people to support volunteers in a variety of settings including housing, community care, shops, administration, and other specialist areas.

The Role:

We are currently looking to recruit a Christmas Appeal Temp Administrator to join our East Regional team in Dublin. The post holder will have responsibility for providing administration support to the East Regional office team for the Christmas Appeal 2024. SVP’s annual appeal attracts gift cards, vouchers, toys and food from donors across the East region (Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare). This is a great opportunity to join one of Ireland’s largest voluntary organisations and make a difference in your community.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. The job holder should be educated to Leaving Certificate level; however, an office administration/secretarial or computer course would be beneficial.
  2. Knowledge of the Society and of its mission and values.
  3. Previous experience in administration and working in a busy office environment.
  4. Experience of working in a warehouse/order fulfilment setting (desirable).
  5. Understanding of financial controls and reconciliation (desirable).
  6. Excellent IT skills, including Excel and MS Word.
  7. Excellent communication skills face to face, by phone, and via written communications.
  8. Health and Safety Training & Manual Handling Training (role involves some physical work regarding stock control).
