Social Worker, Team Leader Fostering Assessment Service

Location: remote / hybrid

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to work in a Team Leader capacity and to join a dynamic and growing team.

Cpl Foster Care provides a suite of 'recruit-to-approval' services to supplement our client's recruitment and assessment of prospective Foster Carers. These services operate on a nationwide basis and include: 


•Dedicated bespoke Foster Care recruitment campaigns.


•Managing the screening of applicants 


•Carry out a range of assessments


•Undertake independent reviews of Foster Carers.

Duties and responsibilities


•Supervise Assessing Social Workers and review assessments, to include General Assessments, S36, Supported Lodgings and Reviews this is to include allocation of assessment and complete any paperwork pertaining to this function. 


•To complete assessments as required by service demand (the number of assessments shall be in line with your working hrs, i.e. part time one assessment at a time to full time up to 3 assessments)


•Provide fostering preparation training to foster care applicants in conjunction with the Separate Children Seeking International Protection team. 


•To review assessments prior to submission 


•To meet with applicants prior to ending of assessment


•To attend Foster Care Committee alongside the assessor 


•Attend any meeting deemed necessary to fulfil the role as Team Leader to include commissioning meetings, internal governance meetings and any other meeting deemed appropriate by the Service Manager 


•To support/deputise for the Service Manager in their day-to-day duties or in their absence.


•To deliver training to assessors


•To ensure compliance within safeguarding procedures throughout all work and within the work of any assessing social worker and reports any child protection concerns immediately to the Service Manager or persons identified within the management structure.

Requirements: 


•A recognised Social Work qualification with CORU registration 


•A minimum of three years' experience within a supervisory / management capacity


•An in-depth knowledge of fostering and child welfare


•Leadership and creativity in setting the strategic direction of the service


•Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in the context of a complex practice and regulatory environment


•A commitment and drive to perform at the highest level

This role will 3 days per week, Wed to Friday and offers remote / hybrid working opportunities and will involve some travel 

Salary: A competitive salary will be offered in line with experience and will be commensurate with the senior level of the post.
