Senior Commercial Underwriter Role:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Commercial Underwriter to join our client, a leading insurance organisation based in Dublin City Centre. This role will involve working across multi-line business through both broker and client channels.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial underwriting and experience managing a portfolio of client and broker accounts.

This is a hybrid role with two days spent in the office, offering various benefits including healthcare, pension, bonus, and more.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing the commercial portfolio for both direct and broker accounts.
  • Analysing policy performance for direct and broker clients, including pricing and coverage evaluations.
  • Ensuring compliance with file documentation standards, underwriting guidelines, and audit requirements.
  • Providing underwriting training and mentoring to team members.
  • Assisting in the day-to-day management of Property, Liability, and Commercial Combined portfolios, including adjustments and account management.
  • Underwriting and negotiating products for direct and broker clients.
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships to support business growth.
  • Arranging Insurance surveys according to underwriting procedures.
  • Maintaining Underwriting records in compliance with regulations.
  • Assisting with reinsurance maintenance and placement.


Your Key Skills:
  • Professional qualification within insurance.
  • Previous experience in an underwriting role with a focus on technical aspects is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and effectively communicate organisational objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in numeracy and analytics, capable of interpreting data and preparing reports.
  • Exposure to various industries and clientele.
  • Demonstrated capacity for independent underwriting decision-making.
  • Ability to influence decision-making processes.
  • Taking ownership of the role, with opportunities for knowledge expansion and career advancement.
