What It Takes:
An important part of the staff role is to support our service users who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions.
So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.
Our dedicated staff team support our service users to learn and develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our service users with day to day life.
Where You Would Work: Castlebar, Co.Mayo
We are developing a new service in Castlebar for 3/4 individual people. Shift patterns for Team leaders' 24hr sleepover shifts. The staff are lone working with an individual on a 1:1 basis. These service users have an intellectual disability and mental health difficulties and where required have a Positive Behavioural Support Plan. There is an awareness of behaviours that challenge and staff are fully supported with training in this regard.

Salary Details:
Relief Support Worker
€14.40 per hour*
When the role requires sleep-in duties a minimum additional payment of €90.40 per night applies.
