About us

From day one, you’ll notice there is something special about working at Davy. Our success is built on nearly 100 years of forging strong relationships with our clients and developing the careers of Ireland’s future business leaders.

Established in 1926, the Davy Group sits at the heart of wealth and capital in Ireland, providing a broad range of services to high-net-worth individuals, self-directed investors, small-to-medium enterprises, credit unions, corporations, and domestic & international institutional investors.

Our culture is shaped around three values, which are at the heart of everything we do: client success, one Davy, and building a proud legacy. Sharing the same goals, we work together to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients. As part of a team of over 900, you will be encouraged to learn and to grow, both professionally and personally.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has opened up in our Strategy, Brand and Marketing department for a PR & Communications Associate Director. In the role, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance the company's reputation and brand awareness.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers to secure positive press coverage.
  • Create press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to promote company initiatives, products, and services.
  • Coordinate and manage media interviews, press conferences, and other public relations events.
  • Monitor and analyse media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
  • Respond to media queries and manage crisis communication effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and compliance, to ensure consistent messaging and brand integrity.
  • Develop and maintain a network of key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry associations.
  • Drive digital PR initiatives, including social media engagement, content creation, and online reputation management.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of public relations campaigns and initiatives.

Requirements

About you

We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in public relations, corporate communications, or media relations, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging for different audiences and channels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of media relations best practices, including pitching, press release distribution, and crisis communication.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and social media platforms for PR purposes.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop innovative PR campaigns and solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to financial services PR.
  • Professional certifications in public relations or related fields are a plus.
  • Ability to manage and navigate crisis situations effectively, including developing communication strategies, managing media inquiries, and protecting the company's reputation.
  • Experience in engaging with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, investors, regulatory bodies, and industry associations, to support the company's PR objectives.
  • Proficiency in planning and executing PR events, such as product launches, industry conferences, and networking functions, to enhance the company's visibility and reputation.
  • Knowledge of conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify PR opportunities, monitor industry trends, and benchmark against best practices.
  • Ability to utilise data analytics tools to measure the impact of PR campaigns, track key performance indicators, and optimise strategies based on insights.
