Electrical Apprenticeship at The Irish Times Print Facility

Location:Irish Times Print Facility, Citywest, Dublin

Job Type: Apprenticeship

Salary:Enhanced Solas Rates

About Us:

We are a leading newspaper production facility committed to delivering high-quality services and products. Our team is seeking a motivated and hardworking individual who wishes to serve a full four-year Solas Electrical Apprenticeship. This is an excellent opportunity to start a rewarding career in Electrical engineering maintenance, gaining hands-on experience while working in a modern, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, test, and maintain electrical wiring systems and services; electrical plant and control equipment; process monitoring and control systems
  • Perform general electrical installation & repairs.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Plan and organise the installation of electrical systems involved in Newspaper production.
  • Assist in the routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems involved in the newspaper production facility.
  • Work closely with experienced technicians to perform routine checks and troubleshoot machinery issues.
  • Follow safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning to develop skills and knowledge in Electrical engineering maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably educated to Leaving Certificate standard. Those sitting the 2025 Leaving Certificate are eligible to apply
  • A strong interest in Electrical systems and engineering.
  • A willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Previous experience related to Electrical maintenance or engineering is an advantage but not required.
