Assistant Accountant (Trainee Accounting role)

The Company:

A leading insurance and financial services brokerage, part of a larger group, is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join its expanding finance team. This is a supportive and collaborative environment where you'll have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully.

The Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Responsibilities include:

  • Processing and reconciling bank transactions.
  • Managing supplier invoices and resolving any related queries.
  • Maintaining supplier accounts, including monthly reconciliations.
  • Supporting the finance team with month-end reporting.
  • Providing backup support to team members in areas such as revenue reporting, cash management, accounts receivable, and month-end processes.
  • Preparing ad-hoc reports and undertaking other duties as assigned.

About You:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Some experience working in an accounting function for a business or practice.
  • Progress towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g., accounting technician, ACCA etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

The Offer

  • Full-Time Permanent role.
  • Hybrid 3 days in office (West Dublin) with free parking on-site.
  • Training programme with studies fully supported (ACCA preferred but will support Chartered CIMA etc if already started).
  • Salary dependant on experience but expect circa €36k base salary plus bonus and benefits.
