Family Support Worker

FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER: P-T / F-T - to provide support to children and their families who are experiencing difficulties. Social Care or related qualification.

FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER

Hours: The role will be for between 21 and 35 hours per week. Hours are generally 9am to 5pm but may involve evenings and weekends so flexibility is required. This is a fixed term contract of employment wholly dependent on ongoing funding.

Salary:  The salary for this position is at point 4 of the FRC FSW Salary Scale at €40,156 (pro rata for part-time roles). Salary will be subject to PRSI at the appropriate level of deductions, statutory deductions and USC. Employers PRSI will be paid. 

Garda Vetting / Child Protection Training:  It is mandatory that the Family Support Worker is Garda vetted with Kells Family Resource Centre and that child protection training is updated.

Job Purpose:  To provide quality supports to children & their families who are experiencing difficulties.
Job Description

To work as part of the team and within the ethos of Kells Family Resource Centre To deliver a high-quality support service to children and parents.  Identify strengths and needs, develop supports and strategies to address those needs and agree an action plan with the family. Plan, implement and evaluate interventions for parents, children and their families. Advocate with/on behalf of children and families To liaise with other agencies to provide an integrated approach to the needs of children and families, and to attend and contribute to reviews and case conferences  Engage in Meitheal as appropriate. Support families to engage and develop links in their community. Deliver parenting and family support programmes Keep accurate and timely records in relation to all aspects of work and prepare reports.
