Installing and maintaining advanced-technology gas turbines, steam turbines, hydro turbines, boilers, HRSGs, compressors, and other rotating equipment, as well as power grid stabilisation, our complex engineering solutions have helped fuel the power generation industry on a global scale.

APC is looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join the Project Execution Team of a large electricity generation project. The role will be based in Limerick and report directly to the Project Manager.

DUTIES
  • Oversee and manage all civil engineering aspects of the project, including technical and constructability reviews of the design, ensuring onsite adherence to design drawings, and monitoring subcontractors' H&S, programme, and commercial milestones.
  • Ensure the design is consistent with the Engineering, Procurement, & Construction (EPC) contract requirements and offering.
  • Identify design issues on site and communicate to the Design Team along with possible solutions. Communicate any delays to the Project Manager including detailed programme impacts.
  • Review subcontractor H&S and environmental documentation.
  • Lead and participate in onsite Health, Safety, and Environmental audits.
  • Perform accuracy and compliance checks on elements of subcontractors' works as required.
  • Assist the Project Management Group to support the execution of the project.
  • Understand TMPs and carry out daily checks for compliance.
  • Prepare regular progress reports on quality, H&S, and Environmental milestones.
  • Support proposal development by providing input regarding power plant proposals' civil requirements, including detailed technical evaluation, and developing detailed supporting documentation of supplier quotes and cost optimization derivations.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on technical aspects of equipment.
  • Monitor all CSA-related resources and activities on site.
  • Assist the commercial team with evaluating work scope completion and payment claims.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to entry-level engineers and field civil associates while driving accountability.
QUALIFICATION
  • BS in Civil Engineering, Advanced degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualisation software such as AutoCAD.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Managing Safely - or equivalent qualification.
DO YOU HAVE?
  • At least 5 years of experience with design/installation of power plants or industrial facilities.
  • Proven working experience as a Civil Engineer working on larger scale multi-discipline projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualisation software such as AutoCAD.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Ability to work with multi-discipline projects.
  • Project management and supervision skills.
  • Decision-making ability and leadership skills.
