Job Description:

Talbot Hotel Midleton, part of Talbot Collection, is currently seeking a part-time leisure club attendant with a level 1 or level 2 water safety or Swim Ireland qualification to join our team.

Overall Job Purpose:

  • To deliver exceptional friendly service at all times, to every guest, in line with the Talbot Collection 'Empower Your Excellence' customer service program.
  • To assist in the day-to-day running of the Leisure Centre.
  • To assist with the general cleaning of the Leisure Centre.

Role Specific Duties:

  • Teaching swimming.
  • Supervising the swimming pool area.
  • Meeting the highest standard of safety.
  • Maintaining a high standard of customer service.
  • Acting immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.
  • Being responsible for the safety of the participants in their own class.
  • Instructing and evaluating students participating in swim lessons.
  • Providing general supervision on pool deck and changing room facilities.
  • Accounting for all children, taking attendance regularly, and following check-in/out procedures.
  • Preparing for swim lesson programs (i.e., facilities, equipment, rosters, lifeguard).
  • Supervising, organizing, and executing swim lessons, including assigning children to levels.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • A friendly and professional work attitude.
  • Assistant or Full WSI, Swim Ireland Swim Teacher or equivalent.
  • Fluent English essential - written and spoken.
  • Must be available to work variable shifts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage.

The role involves weekend work, so flexibility is required.
