Tallaght University Hospital (TUH) is an exciting and dynamic place to work. TUH is one of Ireland's largest acute teaching hospitals, adult, psychiatric and age-related healthcare on one site. It is also a national urology centre, the second largest provider of dialysis services in the country, a regional orthopaedic trauma centre and a designated trauma unit.

TUH is one of the two main academic teaching hospitals of Trinity College Dublin - specialising in the training and professional development of staff in areas such as medicine nursing, health and social care professionals, emergency medicine and surgery, amongst many others. Work in close collaboration with the other Dietitians assigned to the Renal service and provide cross cover as required Provide expert nutritional advice for the multidisciplinary team and actively engage with the team by attending ward rounds, conferences, lunch meetings and grand rounds relevant to the area Participate in the design and implementation of protocols/procedures for nutritional screening, referral, assessment and intervention Record statistical information and produce reports as required Supervise Basic Grade Dietitians and participate in their continuing professional training and development Assist in the clinical training of Student Dietitians on placement in the Hospital Participate in the Departments upskilling program for Dietitians which will provide an opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills to work in other specialties Participate in the education programs run by the department for hospital staff Be responsible for his/her own professional development and keep abreast of developments in Nutrition and Dietetics Initiate and actively participate in audit and in quality improvement initiatives Contribute to the enhancement of clinical practice through participation in audit and research Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of standards and policies relating to the Nutrition & Dietetic service Contribute to and participate in quality improvement initiatives, undertaken by the department Carry out other duties appropriate to the post, as may be assigned by the Manager of Nutrition & Dietetics Qualifications & Experience required
Must: Be registered as a Dietitian by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU And Must have a valid EU work permit/visa Have at least 3 years full time (or equivalent) post qualification clinical dietetic experience At least 3 months Clinical experience working continuously in the area of renal dietetics Desirable: Be a member of the Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute Have completed the INDI Renal Interest Groups Renal Nutrition Courses 1 and 2 Reward & Recognition Remuneration is in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales, grade code 3395 The appointment is permanent and pensionable The annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year. The leave year runs from 1st April to the 31st of March each year Normal working hours are 35 worked over 5 days.
