Job Overivew- Tax Senior (Newly Qualified)

Allianz Care, Dublin is seeking a recently qualified Tax Senior based in Dublin 12. Through organic growth this new Tax Senior position has arisen for an ambitious qualified/almost qualified Tax Advisor (CTA / CTC) who is seeking an opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of international and domestic tax in the Insurance Sector. The Tax Senior position will provide the candidate with a balance of compliance, consultancy and ad-hoc specialist project advisory work. Allianz Care specialize in International Health and Life insurance.

The candidate would be reporting into the Head of Tax for International Health based in Dublin with ultimate functional reporting lines to Allianz Group Tax.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a strong can-do attitude and the ability to adapt quickly to a fast paced environment is essential. The job will cover advisory across all taxes, particularly new Irish Transfer Pricing requirements, VAT compliance, withholding taxes, global IPT advice and domestic corporate tax compliance and tax reporting. Experience in the Financial Services sector is a clear advantage. This position would also be a great first step for a candidate looking to move from practice into an industry role.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Preparation and/or review of corporation tax computations for a number of entities in the Allianz Care group.
  • Providing VAT advice and review of bi-monthly VAT returns with finance team
  • Providing advice on ad-hoc global insurance premium tax queries as required
  • Preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation and review of inter-Allianz pricing strategies and contracts annually.
  • Tax point of contact for new business projects/opportunities.
  • Ability to review tax clauses and/or introduce tax clauses in legal agreements and contracts
  • Provision of withholding tax advice globally as required.
  • Working with IT to implement changes to systems as required for any changes to tax legislation and/or tax rates.

Requirements
To be successful in this position you will need to have the following skills/experience:

  • Qualified CTA or CTC ( and/or ACA / ACCA) with training completed in tax (Top Tier accounting/tax firm is an advantage)
  • Confident in your abilities across tax compliance and tax consultancy
  • Excellent commercial, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Genuine interest in professional development to become an expert in Financial Services tax.
  • Exposure to tax accounting and reporting is also an advantage.
  • Ability to multi task and work as part of an international team based globally.
  • A legal background would be an advantage for review of legal agreements from a tax perspective.
