Key job responsibilities

• Lead project teams of discipline leads to deliver quality and globally consistent data center designs within schedule and cost constraints while maintaining a high level of quality

• Able to influence internal stakeholders, internal customers (operations), and external consultants to address program wide design changes

• Manage escalations from the design team and collaborate with procurement, construction and external consultants

• Effectively communicate with AWS Leadership and external project partners, including the creation, tracking & reporting of metrics related to schedule, cost, and quality Throughout the lifecycle of the project

• Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce contract change orders without negative impacts on quality or reliability

• Drive speed, quality, and simplification by eliminating rework loops, reducing and automating manual work and hand-offs, identifying and implementing best practices across the business, and minimizing process variability through standardization and automation

• Create global best practice documentation and facilitate sharing across the globe

• Ability to motivate others to achieve impeccable quality in an explosive growth and deadline-driven environment

• Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with design consultants. Anticipated travel not to exceed 25%. International travel may be needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics, defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Understanding of technical documentation
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Understanding of data centers and its critical components
- 2+ years of experience related to industry infrastructure or mission critical facility design.
