Job Title: Clinical Specialist Radiographer - Ultrasound

Department: Radiology

Reports to: Head of Radiology or Designee

The position requires strong leadership skills to guide and supervise Radiographic staff effectively, ensuring smooth service delivery on a daily basis within a dynamic environment. Adaptability to change and a proactive attitude towards assigned duties are key attributes.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Clinical Operations: lead the Ultrasound service team, oversee resource utilization, and maintain service quality.
  • Devise and implement operational policies for optimal resource use and conduct regular audits.
  • Advise on equipment matters, contribute to service plans, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, support financial planning, and aid in service development initiatives.
  • Provide professional guidance, maintain a safe environment, and facilitate staff training and development.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs, hospital policies, and safety standards.
  • Assist in resolving complaints, incidents, and maintain adherence to safety protocols.
  • Remain flexible to accommodate changes in work patterns and additional responsibilities as needed.

Quality:

  • Collaborate in policy development, implement quality improvements, and conduct audits for quality assurance.
  • Participate in relevant meetings and support in preparation for accreditation surveys.

Qualifications

  • BSc(Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate Ultrasound diploma desirable.
  • CORU Registration.
  • Management course (desirable).

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years' experience in the field or relevant postgraduate qualification with at least 3 years' experience.
  • Proven track record of teamwork, training, and ultrasound expertise.
