Job Summary

In this role, you will report to the site Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to support the planning and implementation of environmental health and safety programs. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining a comprehensive occupational safety program for the facility, conducting safety inspections, participating in incident investigations, providing HSE training, and performing assigned tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Guide and promote employee health and safety performance by assisting in developing health and safety systems, programs, and procedures to prevent occupational injuries and enhance the overall site safety culture.
  2. Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  3. Conduct facility audits, surveys, and inspections to identify hazards and weaknesses, ensure compliance with regulations, and develop solutions and recommendations.
  4. Review and approve risk assessments, support chemical and hazardous waste management, educate employees on safety, monitor contractor activities, and participate in safety-related projects.
  5. Contribute to HSE, Sustainability, and Corporate Responsibility projects, managing project objectives and resources.
  6. Recommend changes to protect workers and perform any other duties as assigned.
Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Possess a strong ability to establish positive relationships with employees and managers.
  • Manufacturing or similar experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, strong planning and organizational skills, analytical problem-solving, initiative, and innovation.
  • Knowledge of computer and software skills is an asset.
Travel Requirements

Up to 5% travel: Up to 13 business days per year.

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The job is considered light work if the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of force greater than that of sedentary work, and if the worker sits most of the time.
