KNOWTHE ROLE

Our People Department is looking for a HR Business Partner on an 18 month fixed term contract, who will be accountablefordeliveringonthe People TeamstrategyforBrownThomas Arnotts. This role is pivotal in partnering with our senior business leaders to implement people initiatives, provide outstanding support and coaching to team members and managers, and drive continuous process improvements to make Brown Thomas Arnotts a great place to work.

The HRBP is a senior HR role, balancing strategic and hands-on responsibilities, and is integral to delivering a top-tier HR service to Brown Thomas Arnotts business and team members.

RESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDE

Partnership:

  • Collaborate with business Stakeholders to establish a trusted, knowledgeable partnership.
  • Act as the primary HR representative for the department, liaising with Recruitment, HRIS, and Learning & Development functions.
  • Develop and deliver HR solutions to meet departmental needs, including performance management, team member engagement, succession planning, talent retention, and communication.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and consultation to business Stakeholders on issues affecting morale, performance, reward, retention, development, and organisational effectiveness, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate actions.
  • Support business Stakeholders by coaching, developing, and aiding them in building their leadership skills and effectively managing their teams.
  • Foster a strong culture in line with our Values of DoingtheRightThing,GoingAbove and Beyond and Driving Creativityand Innovationand create a positive team environment.

Change and Transformation:

  • Support change initiatives using change management techniques for HR system or process improvements.
  • Lead HR process improvements and service level enhancements within the HR Leadership team.
  • Assist in HR system improvement projects.

Talent Development:

  • Collaborate with the Business Partner for Recruitment & Talent to address current and future succession needs, ensuring talent retention and engagement.
  • Utilise support from Recruitment & Talent to develop talent plans, career paths, and development programs for the department.
  • Support Recruitment & Talent in measuring team performance, potential, succession, and training needs, providing solutions to maintain a strong talent pipeline.
  • Define departmental talent needs, aiding in identifying, recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top talent.

Operational Deliverables:

  • Work with business Stakeholders on team member relations matters, driving a learning culture with tools and training for quick issue resolution.
  • Monitor and analyse HR metrics and performance indicators, identifying and addressing future people-related issues and trends.
  • Support the development of a performance-driven team focused on feedback and performance objectives.
  • Drive HR fundamentals, including workforce planning, headcount, and budgeting.
  • Oversee & support with grievances, investigations and disciplinary meetings in line with best practice and Brown Thomas Arnotts procedures
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders and HR team to enhance team member experience initiatives.

People Team Leadership:

  • Contribute to the overall People agenda as a senior HR team member.
  • Lead change initiatives within the business area, aligning with the overall People plan.
  • Collaborate with the Business Partner for Recruitment & Talent to build organisational talent and capability.
  • Mentor and coach junior HR team members to enhance their capabilities.
  • Deliver on specific business-focused HR projects and undertake project work as part of the HR leadership team.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, offering challenge and guidance.

KNOWWHATWE'RELOOKINGFOR

  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience in a similar-sized, progressive organisation with a proven track record in a demanding environment.
  • Preferably experienced in consumer-led, retail, or service industries.
  • Holds a third-level degree in a business/HR-related discipline, with CIPD qualification or equivalent desirable.
  • Proven experience in true HR business partnering with ownership of a business area or entire organisation.
  • Innovative and creative, with strong listening skills; a coaching or mentoring qualification is desirable.
  • Strong relationship builder with the ability to quickly earn the confidence and respect of the senior management team.
  • Demonstrates sound commercial judgment, a keen interest in the business, and the ability to contribute people solutions from a business perspective.
  • Capable of working independently, taking on challenges, and collaborating within the HR leadership team.
  • Ability to switch between strategic and tactical tasks, comfortable with a hands-on approach.
  • Proven track record of leading change and transformation projects, including culture development, talent development, and systems improvement.
  • Flexible and adept at handling ambiguity and change.

Technical Skills

  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
  • Excellent working knowledge of HR systems, preferably Core HR, TALEO.
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills with excellent attention to detail and consistent standards when dealing with high volumes of data and administration.
