Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Developing and Owning the Global Automation Roadmap
  • Creating or updating Automation project plans in collaboration with operations IT lead, business, and Operations Leadership
  • Managing the budget for automation IT projects
  • Executing the Automation and Analytics Roadmap
  • Reporting the status of automation projects to senior leadership in Operations and IT
  • Leading the selection of software vendors for global solutions, establishing best practices and standards for company-wide use, and defining base user requirements to ensure consistency with standards
  • Identifying and assessing new emerging technologies, technological advancements, and market trends for integration into the Automation Program
  • Implementing Global Core strategies for MES, SAP-PM Fiori, Data Historian and Analytics; promoting the adoption of these systems at key manufacturing sites; reducing total cost of ownership through business process alignment; nurturing talent in COE's; overseeing tactical implementations across multiple sites in cooperation with regional and local site IT Leads
  • Driving Robotic Process Automation (RPA) initiatives and streamlining applications to maintain lean and cost-effective manufacturing processes
  • Creating an Analytics roadmap for manufacturing, Supply Chain, and R&D; architecting Azure SynOps; designing and implementing data governance principles; formulating scalable and adaptable data models

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • The ideal candidate should possess a master's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in Pharmaceutical Operations with advanced competencies in automation
  • Background in a large multinational pharmaceutical company with deep knowledge of plant automation, pharmaceutical supply chain, etc.
  • Previous experience in people management and leading cross-functional, multi-disciplinary high-performing teams
  • Proficiency in English at an advanced level is mandatory
