Cubic is on the hunt for a passionate Senior Software Test Automation Engineer, someone full of energy and commitment, ready to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. This individual will join the Test System Team under the umbrella of the DevOps and Quality Assurance division.

This team plays a pivotal role in delivering test automation solutions to support Cubic's engineering teams by constructing and managing test automation frameworks and tools. The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative, open-minded, and innovative approach to their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Championing top-notch test automation principles within the engineering group as a Senior Subject Matter Expert
  • Collaborating closely with Engineering Managers and architects to enforce and execute best practices
  • Expanding and upkeeping test automation frameworks for Cubic Telecom
  • Assisting test automation engineers in:
  • Developing and maintaining automated test suites, including mocking frameworks and integration with proprietary in-house testing platforms
  • Thoroughly investigating automation test failures and resolving issues
  • Coordinating the setup of necessary tools/environments for test automation engineers, following the Technology Radar established by the Architecture Team
  • Integrating with and enhancing Engineering Quality Dashboards to offer standardized test automation visibility and insights across the engineering group

Requirements

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, computer/electronic engineering, or a related scientific discipline
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in a test automation role
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of working autonomously, effectively managing time and workload
  • Ability to articulate thoughts, ideas, and design specifications clearly and effectively communicate with team leads and cross-functional team members
  • Comfortable presenting in front of small groups of peers and leadership
  • Experience with API/Microservice and web application test automation
  • Proficiency with a variety of test automation tools and programming/scripting languages, including .Net, C#, C++, Java
  • Experience in continuous testing environments and working with Continuous Integration tools
  • Familiarity with functional and non-functional test automation, along with a solid grasp of testing phases and techniques
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and clear communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to mentor colleagues with less experience
  • Experience using Test Management software (e.g., TestRail)
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira
  • Background in Telecoms/IP Networking
  • Experience testing IoT/M2M applications or systems
  • Knowledge of API and web application mocking tools
  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • Exposure to configuring TLS/SSL on server infrastructure
  • Experience in lean engineering models, particularly using Kanban
  • Mobile Device testing experience
  • Proficiency in Agile development environments
  • ISTQB Certification
  • Experience with Angular Frameworks Testing and Performance Test Engineering
  • Extensive industry experience with leading companies
