Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the AWS Networking team working on designing and developing software and services for configuring and automating operations, exceeding customer expectations.
We need someone independent, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills, and significant experience in large-scale projects. Collaborating closely with System and Network Development Engineers, Network Operations, and other software teams, your role will focus on scalable designs, reducing operational load, integrating with existing tools, and maintaining customer satisfaction.
AWS Infrastructure Services team manages the global infrastructure for all AWS services, ensuring seamless access to innovation. We tackle challenging problems daily, seeking talented individuals to join our mission.
You will be part of a diverse team, collaborating with experts in software, hardware, network engineering, security, supply chain, and operations. Together, we aim to uphold the highest safety and security standards while ensuring limitless capacity at minimal costs for our customers.
Key job responsibilities:
- Operating autonomously to deliver projects and interact with other teams
- Driving designs for new features and services, estimating upcoming deliverables, documenting proposed solutions, reviewing code, conducting root cause analysis, and providing project updates
We are considering candidates for our Dublin office.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in building successful, complex software systems
- Designing and architecting new systems with a focus on reliability and scaling
- Full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, testing, and operations
- Programming skills in Java, C++, or C#, with strong object-oriented design principles
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
