We are looking to fill a permanent Quality Inspector position at our In-Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) instrumentation manufacturing facility in Swords, County Dublin. With ongoing new product introductions at the Swords site, this is an exciting time to join our team of Quality experts and contribute to shaping the future processes of our manufacturing operations.

In this role, you will directly report to the Supplier Quality & Incoming Inspection Manager and collaborate with the site Quality team to uphold and enhance quality standards and compliance in product manufacturing and support services. Your responsibilities will include providing crucial inspection support on-site, particularly in the areas of Component and Mechatronic Inspection to bolster our manufacturing operations.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day inspection expertise in Component and Mechatronic Inspection for manufacturing.
  • Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and lot inspection activities.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and appropriately handling defective products.
  • Determine the acceptance or rejection of materials presented for inspection.
  • Document inspection results, maintain quality inspection reports and logs, and accurately input data into the quality database.
  • Assist the Supplier Quality Engineering department in recording and reporting failure and nonconforming material data.
  • Collaborate with various departments to check specifications and tolerances as needed.
  • Assess Supplier capability to ensure compliance with quality requirements and Siemens standards.
  • Support technology transfer initiatives and new product introduction projects.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to standards, procedures, and quality regulations.
Competencies
  • Inspection Methodologies such as PCBA Visual Inspection (IPC-A-610), Fabricated/Machined Metal Mechanical/Visual inspection, Precision linear measurement, non-contact measurement, Moulded and Machined plastics inspection, and measurement – Advanced
  • Geometrical Tolerancing in areas like position, perpendicularity, concentricity, angularity, roundness, etc. – Advanced
  • General Inspection to Drawing; Commercial off-the-shelf components, inspect against vendors' item or model number – Advanced
  • Excellent Communication skills both oral and written – Advanced
Qualifications/Skills/Experience for this role
  • Ideally with 3 years or more of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of a third-level qualification (Diploma/Degree) in an appropriate discipline (Quality Management, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering) OR relevant experience.
  • Experience in leading teams and projects with strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work across technically diverse areas along the supply chain, including the supplier environment.
