We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to lead a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants and to play an integral and active role in a committed Multidisciplinary Team to make a significant contribution in the area of psychiatric nurse management.

Work Location: Stocking Lane, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, Ireland

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Working Hours: 78 hours fortnightly

Reports to: Director of Nursing and accountable to Assistant Director of Nursing

Bloomfield Hospital provides a spectrum of neuropsychiatric services to adults with diverse severe and enduring mental health needs such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Huntington's Diseases, alongside individuals with early onset dementias, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading strategic and operational development, coordination, and management in alignment with national and regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Ensuring the delivery of nursing services at the highest standard of treatment and care while upholding safety measures.
  • Maintaining utmost compliance with regulatory programs including Health & Safety and Risk Management standards.
  • Leading operational change programs within the nursing service with expertise and experience.
  • Engaging with residents, families, carers, nursing staff, and others in goal setting and care planning.
  • Participating in the multidisciplinary/healthcare team for seamless cooperation and collaboration.
  • Ensuring alignment of all practices, procedures, and policies with the organization's service and strategic plans.

Requirements for Successful Candidates:

  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse (with An Bord Altranais/NMBI or eligibility to register).
  • Minimum of five years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in Clinical Nurse Manager 1 role.
  • Experience in a healthcare/hospital setting, particularly in acute mental health care.
  • Clinical exposure to palliative care is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in clinical, managerial, and administrative competencies.
  • Expertise in staff management, budgeting, and workforce planning.
  • Familiarity with Mental Health Commission requirements, leadership, and governance.
  • Experience in team-based clinical settings and understanding of Clinical Governance principles.
  • Capability to lead, instruct, manage, and engage in the education of students and nurses, and support their development.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations impacting an organization's operations.
  • Demonstrated ongoing professional/personal development.
