The position is wholetime, permanent and pensionable.

  • prepare and furnish clear and concise reports in excel/word/powerpoint on all matters pertaining to his/her duties; keep accurate works records, objective site records, record all variations of contracts, make estimates/costing works;
  • perform written clerical work in connection with preparation of pay sheets, returns etc;
  • read maps/ordnance sheets/scale drawings of works, produce sketches of work and measure completed works;
  • carry out surveying, levelling and setting out of works;
  • effectively communicate technical instructions to contractors;
  • detect workmanship that does not comply or materials which do not conform to the contract requirements;
  • carry out quality control inspections of new build and refurbishment projects being constructed under a variety of contracts;
  • keep accurate records of inspections, notices, Court Orders etc and carry out such duties as may be necessary in connection with legal proceedings including attendance at Court and giving evidence;
  • control and supervise staff, including supervision of crews under his/her control and allocate tasks as required;
  • use electronic equipment and modern communication technology and information systems including GIS system, ROADMAP and CAD systems as required
  • undertake any course or relevant training and co-operate fully in the use of new technology and communication systems including any that may be introduced;
  • comply with requirements of all Health & Safety legislation/regulations and all policies and best practices introduced the Council;
  • drive a motor car, and be the holder of a current unendorsed full driving licence (not a provisional licence);
