Citi has had a presence in Ireland since 1965, being among the pioneering foreign banks to establish an office in the country. It serves as the Citibank Europe Plc (CEP) Headquarters. CEP acts as the primary European Union (EU) licensed banking entity for Citi in Europe, with branches across 21 countries. It holds significant importance for the European Central Bank (ECB) and Central Bank of Ireland (CBI). CEP adheres to principles based on regulatory requirements and guidance, defining the specifications and timeline for independent credit risk review, a crucial aspect of this role.

Team/Role Overview

The Global Risk Review (GRR) division provides independent, objective, reliable, valued, and timely assurance to Citi's Boards, Committees, Citigroup Chief Risk Officer, Citigroup Chief Credit Officer, senior management, and regulatory bodies regarding the effectiveness of credit, capital, and collateral risk management. This extends to evaluating the capabilities of the first and second lines of defense (the Business and independent Risk Management) in identifying, monitoring, and mitigating existing and emerging risks. Within GRR, the Banking & International Credit Review (BICR) function focuses on offering an independent review and challenge of credit risk management.

This position falls under a 'Controlled Function' category, as articulated by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010, Principal Regulations 2011, and related amendments.

What You'll Do

  • Assess the effectiveness of credit risk management at Citi
  • Management of BICR Review Entities
  • Assessment of credit and exposure analysis quality
  • Evaluate credit risk processes and standards
  • Prepare Credit Assessment Documents
  • Approval of relationship-level file testing
  • Reporting to the CEP Chief Risk Officer (CRO)
  • Support Credit Review Managers and Senior Credit Review Managers
  • Proactive communication on emerging risks
  • Assist in maintaining effective relationships with regulators and auditors
  • Travel Required (25%)

What We'll Need From You

  • Financial services experience, especially in corporate or commercial banking
  • Work experience in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration
  • Good knowledge of capital markets products, including derivatives
  • Expertise in risk analysis and management
  • Familiarity with EU/EBA credit regulations and guidelines
  • Advanced analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to recognize and address emerging risks
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Preferred knowledge of Citi's organization and systems

Qualifications

  • BA/BSc or higher in business, finance, or related field
  • Senior Credit Officer qualification preferred
