Emergent Risk International (ERI) is seeking to hire a full-time Intelligence Analyst to serve as an embedded contract employee within the global security department of one of our multinational corporate clients in the technology sector.

The Threat Intelligence Analyst will have significant experience writing in-depth intelligence reports and possess robust research skills. Prior experience performing intelligence analysis in the government or private sector is preferred. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for preparing comprehensive, full-scope threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments that inform real estate investment and security mitigation decisions for both new and existing operational sites.

This is a hybrid position that will require occasional work from the client's office; however, most work hours are expected to be performed remotely.

Candidates should be located in Dublin, Ireland. The successful candidate is anticipated to support regular short-term travel opportunities to throughout Europe on an as-needed basis.

The Position: The Threat Intelligence Analyst will be embedded with an ERI client as a member of a global team responsible for compiling security risk assessments. At times, this position may support domestic and/or international travel as part of the comprehensive risk assessment workflow. The position is part of a larger team of ERI-contracted personnel that provide the client with worldwide threat monitoring and analysis capability through 24x7x365 tracking, analyzing, and reporting on actual/potential threats.

Threat Intelligence Analysts perform extensive research on regions and localities across the globe for new facilities and operations, as well as those currently operational.

The role requires sound research skills to compile detailed, expertly sourced reports that clearly outline the full scope of threat, vulnerabilities, and risks in the environment alongside comprehensive country/regional analysis. Final reports are expected to exhaust available reporting on geopolitical concerns, crime trends, logistics challenges, environmental trends, and more while distilling key points for the client audience.

This role is best suited for a mid-career intelligence analyst who is passionate about thorough research, in-depth writing, and leveraging data to support analysis, and who enjoys producing comprehensive bodies of work that have an immediate and tangible impact on the client's business.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in intelligence and geopolitical risk analysis in business and/or government, and very strong or expert communication, research, and writing skills.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a proven track-history of successfully working independently and producing longer reports that require minimal editing. The selected candidate will be trained on client tools and resources, and ERI-specific analytic tradecraft, writing, and analysis as part of the role.

Primary Responsibilities: Day-to-day responsibilities as a Threat Intelligence Analysts will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting research using government data, open source, vendor tools, and social/traditional media to provide analysis on threats, vulnerabilities, and risks present in and around the site of new/existing corporate assets and facilities.
  • Producing well-informed, concise, relevant, high-quality analysis that displays appropriate context and critical thinking to improve security and business outcomes; written analysis should require minimal editing.
  • Understanding, interrogating, and visualizing high-quality data to draw analytic conclusions, and add additional context to analysis and reporting.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the client's business operations, value chain, supply chain, services, and assets around the globe, and appropriately represent the global team when interacting with client stakeholders.
  • Actively fostering internal and external relationships to facilitate improved information flow and a better understanding of the needs of the business, including working with sector-specific information-sharing groups, private-public partnership, and company employees.
  • Developing expert user skills for tools required to conduct analyses and define risk levels. This includes data accessibility available in ERI's Emergency Risk Situation Room, which should be leveraged to property and expertly source risk assessments.

●Online Platform: We offer a subscription-based online portal that provides a workspace environment for security intelligence analysts, combining ERI's expert analysis with hundreds of curated datasets and our suite of data visualization tools.

Consulting: We help companies develop and improve their intelligence programs, providing end-to-end support — from assessing needs and providing analysis to recruiting and hiring highly qualified candidates.

Embedded Analyst Services: We support our clients with embedded analysts — full- and part-time, short- and long-term. Our embedded analysts work directly for our clients, allowing them the benefit of employing intelligence professionals trained to ERI's strict standards of competency and continually professionally developed by ERI's senior leadership, armed with access to ERI's proprietary tools and deep backbench of in-house subject matter experts.

Required Experience: The ideal candidate will possess most or all of the following qualifications:

  • At least three to five years of experience performing solid data analysis and completing analytic training in the government or private sector; over five years of experience is a plus.
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills, to include sound use of grammar and succinct analytic writing styles.
  • Delivery of a full suite of long and shorter written products that require little editing.
  • Extensive experience with open-source research, analytic research tools and applications, and social media monitoring.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize effectively to meet quick-turnaround deadlines without sacrificing product quality.
  • Self-motivated with a growth mindset and natural curiosity. Proven ability to both work independently and foster positive team environments.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment.
  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Qualified candidates can also expect to produce a sample of written analysis as part of the interview process. As this organizational security role requires a high degree of trust and may involve access to proprietary and other commercially sensitive information, the successful applicant must pass a locally compliant background check prior to selection.

Preferred Experience: The following qualifications are a plus that would enhance a candidate's suitability for the position:

  • Previous experience in the technology sector, and/or demonstrated understanding of technical infrastructure.
  • Fluency in or familiarity with language(s) other than English.
  • Experience living or working in multiple countries.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and applications.
  • Exposure to performing risk and threat analysis.
  • Exposure to data visualization and/or creating infographics.

Remuneration:This role will be a full-time (40 hours per week) salaried position working Monday through Friday, and could occasionally include evening or weekend work. Pay will be commensurate with experience and will include a benefits package with vacation, sick leave, health insurance, and the option to participate in ERI's pension plan, where applicable. Relocation benefits are not available.
