A Critical Care Nurse in Ireland has a key role in delivering top-notch care to patients facing life-threatening conditions.

  • Patient Care:

  • Emergency Response:

    • Perform advanced life support procedures like CPR and defibrillation.
    • Ensure all emergency equipment is ready and functional.
  • Patient Monitoring and Documentation:
    • Use advanced monitoring equipment to track patient progress.
    • Maintain detailed patient records, including treatments and responses.
    • Accurately document all care activities in patient records.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
    • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
    • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care.
  • Infection Control and Safety:
    • Follow strict infection control policies.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
    • Adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay updated with the latest critical care and medical practices.
    • Engage in continuing education and professional development.
    • Mentor and train junior staff and students.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in critical or intensive care. Additional certifications in critical care nursing are advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
