Our current project involves constructing six utility scale ground mounted solar PV projects in central Ireland, specifically in Kilkenny, Limerick, Galway, and Offaly. These projects have secured grid connections and planning permissions, qualifying for support through the Renewable Energy Support Scheme (RESS3). Additionally, ENGIE has a pipeline of development projects in Ireland.

About the role

ENGIE is seeking a Health & Safety Supervisor based in Ireland - Site oriented for a Fixed Term Contract role, working full time Monday to Friday. The position offers a competitive salary, bonus, and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent ENGIE on the construction site regarding HSE issues, overseeing health, environment, and safety activities

Provide support to construction teams on all aspects of Health and Safety performance and management.

Ensure that contracting companies adhere to the project safety plan, including maintaining site safety inductions for all contractors and visitors.

Confirm compliance of on-site companies, contractors, and subcontractors with HSE regulations and ENGIE requirements, maintaining communication with H&S roles within the organization and Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS).

Collaborate with the PSCS to assess companies' safety plans and their adherence on site.

Support the PSCS in updating the project safety plan as the works progress, aiming to enhance work processes.

Conduct risk analysis for new activities or processes and adapt planned processes as needed.

Key Requirements

Experience in a Health and Safety role, preferably in the process or construction industry.

Experience implementing regulations equivalent to UK CDM Regulations in the Republic of Ireland.

An accredited Professional Health and Safety qualification is mandatory.

A recognized Fire Risk Assessor qualification is beneficial.

Experience in the PSDP role is advantageous.

Experience in Health and Safety auditing.

Familiarity with Republic of Ireland Health and Safety legislation, principles, and practice.

Knowledge of environmental regulations related to waste management.

Construction site experience in the renewable energy sector.
