The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI's roles and responsibilities in respect of research and innovation activities, mandated in the Sustainable Energy Act 2002. These include coordinating, promoting and facilitating research, development and demonstration of technologies related to sustainable energy.

The RD&D team manage the SEAI National Energy Funding Programme which funds around 50 national research projects and Fellowships annually as well as partnering on other national and international funding programmes. Other activities include collating national energy research data, disseminating research through an annual conference and seminar series and working closely with colleagues across the department, SEAI, government departments and the EU.

The successful candidate will report to the Programme Manager for the RD&D Team.

The RD&D team works within the wider SEAI Research & Technology Department which includes teams in the areas of Offshore Energy, Electricity & Wind, International Research and Decarbonised Heat & Bioenergy. focused on developing solutions to the challenge of decarbonising Ireland's energy system. This position will play a key role in the above Department.

Essential Requirements:

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

Third level qualification (Level 7 on NFQ) in a relevant energy-related area such as engineering, science, social science background, or equivalent.A minimum of 3 years' experience working in research programme administration/management or an energy-related area.Knowledge of Ireland's energy-related research strengths and opportunities.An understanding of national and European energy policy priorities and how research can support achievement of these priorities.Desirable Requirements:Experience of working in an energy-related research environment across the public sector, academia or industry.Postgraduate or PhD level qualification.Eligibility to Work in the State:

It is the Agencies responsibility to ensure that the appointed candidate is eligible to work in the State for the duration of the contract term (18 months)
