TheOperational Excellence Specialist for ADMF is responsible for partnering with the site teams to provide day to day support for operational excellence activities. They will promote and develop an operational excellence culture within the teams in Dublin, ensuring that all employees become involved in the OpEx initiative. They will work closely with the local functional leads as well as operators and technicians to problem solve and implement improvements in the areas. They will be passionate about operational excellence, visible and present on the manufacturing floor promoting and embedding a strong operational excellence culture.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Promote and embed an Operational Excellence Culture at the Dublin site, ensuring that all employees become actively involved in the OpEx initiatives.
  • Develop close relationships with the site Operations, Engineering, Technical and Quality teams to foster a strong OpEx culture
  • Supports the implementation of the overall OpEx strategy for the site.
  • Act as a local functional SME for tiered management, 5S and standard work implementations
  • Drive the generation of and support the implementation of improvement ideas and opportunities across the site teams, track and publish the progress of ideas generated.
  • Provide local Subject Matter Expertise on OpEx methodology and tools, including Level 0 problem solving methodology.
  • Supports OpEx training, guidance and education as needed.
  • Benchmark with other industries who are implementing Business or Operational Excellence.
  • Become involved in the global Operational Excellence process and identify synergies and common ground between the Dublin site and Global AO Site.
  • Coordinate with Site OpEx and Global OpEx teams to implement OpEx strategy at the team level.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience of implementing operational excellence strategies and tools at the team level
  • Comfortable working closely with operators and technicians to support operational excellence implementation.
  • Experience driving change cross functionally
  • Coaching and leadership experience.
  • Sound judgment and comfortable operating in a challenging, fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in developing, motivating, and organizing high performing work groups in the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent communication skills—both upwards and downwards and outside the company.
  • Ability to lead and communicate orally, in written documents, and in formal presentations is required.

Education

  • Degree (BEng, BSc, MSc or PhD) in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Relevant experience of continuous improvement with minimum of green belt lean six sigma training.
