ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments tailored to the civil engineering environment.

  • Create and maintain health and safety documentation, meticulously logging all relevant information.

  • Ensure policies and procedures comply with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

  • Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for project personnel, including engineers, construction workers, and subcontractors.

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses occurring on construction sites, analyzing root causes and contributing factors.

  • Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify and address potential health and safety concerns during the design phase.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, inspectors, and other stakeholders regarding health and safety matters related to engineering and construction projects.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs and initiatives, and implement continuous improvement measures to enhance safety performance.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Excellent proficiency in English, particularly in report writing and statement acquisition.

  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with various departments and managers.

  • Proficient in drafting and delivering PowerPoint presentations and conducting ongoing toolbox talks.

  • Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, with occasional liaison with company directors

Qualification

  • Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Occupational Safety and Health Management (Level 8) or equivalent.

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience demonstrating a track record of operational improvement and increased safety awareness.

  • Advantageous qualifications include certification as a Manual Handling or Abrasive Wheel instructor trainer, along with First Aid Training.

  • Previous experience in water, electricity, or telecoms civil utilities works is advantageous.

  • Possession of relevant certifications such as Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and a full driving license.

PACKAGE

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with potential for extra hours nearing project completion.

  • Office-based role with occasional travel to various worksites.

  • 21 days of annual leave provided, along with a company phone and laptop.

  • Access to a company vehicle and fuel card for work-related travel.
