ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments tailored to the civil engineering environment.

Create and maintain health and safety documentation, meticulously logging all relevant information.

Ensure policies and procedures comply with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for project personnel, including engineers, construction workers, and subcontractors.

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses occurring on construction sites, analyzing root causes and contributing factors.

Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify and address potential health and safety concerns during the design phase.

Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, inspectors, and other stakeholders regarding health and safety matters related to engineering and construction projects.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs and initiatives, and implement continuous improvement measures to enhance safety performance.
IDEAL CANDIDATE

Excellent proficiency in English, particularly in report writing and statement acquisition.

Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with various departments and managers.

Proficient in drafting and delivering PowerPoint presentations and conducting ongoing toolbox talks.

Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, with occasional liaison with company directors
Qualification
-
Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Occupational Safety and Health Management (Level 8) or equivalent.

3-5 years of relevant experience demonstrating a track record of operational improvement and increased safety awareness.

Advantageous qualifications include certification as a Manual Handling or Abrasive Wheel instructor trainer, along with First Aid Training.

Previous experience in water, electricity, or telecoms civil utilities works is advantageous.

Possession of relevant certifications such as Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and a full driving license.
PACKAGE

Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with potential for extra hours nearing project completion.

Office-based role with occasional travel to various worksites.
