Why this job matters

The Procurement Professional supports in the implementation of procurement strategies for complex projects across the BT Group's spend categories, delivering procurement of material / services through the identification of needs and execution of purchasing according to established agreements.

What you'll be doing

  • Helping to drive and deliver procurement plans and activities in BT's IT, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement. Negotiating and implementing procurement frameworks and procedures.
  • Working with BT Group business stakeholders to identify and deliver savings opportunities, efficiencies, and compliance.
  • Working within a matrixed organisation needing to collaborate across functions to successfully deliver outcomes.
  • Providing key inputs for Category Strategies and Sourcing Activities, through planning and execution of sourcing, and supplier and risk management activities.
  • Managing RFP processes from end to end.
  • Building and maintaining category knowledge, applying best practices around sourcing approach, supplier selection, total cost of ownership and negotiation tactics
  • Drive and deliver end-to-end sourcing projects including complex contractual and pricing models, in accordance with strict timelines.
  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and suppliers and negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements utilising the latest contracting tools.
  • Review and approval of off contract Pos for BT Group.
  • Deliver other business partnering services to key CFUs / CUs

The skills you'll need

  • We're looking for someone who is results oriented, ambitious, agile and passionate.
  • Comfortable with contract negotiation.
  • Good business expertise in category management, particularly around supplier capabilities and commercial models required to deliver portfolio and customer requirements.
  • Ability to manage sometimes complex, strategic, and commercial requirements between BT and Suppliers, and deliver projects successfully.
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant business or technical area
  • IT Procurement, Supply Chain or Sourcing Experience
  • Exposure to digital sourcing tools and willingness to learn and develop further
