Join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of Food Safety and Quality Management as a Quality Assurance Officer. We are seeking a passionate individual who thrives on contributing to the development and implementation of robust systems that produce top-tier, safe food products.

Your role will involve a variety of responsibilities, from conducting quality checks to collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Monday to Friday-08:00 to 17:00. (Day Shift Only, No Weekends)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion food safety and health and safety practices, fostering a culture where everyone takes responsibility for maintaining high standards.
  • Verify and document production checks to ensure compliance with food safety specifications, actively supporting day-to-day decision-making for consistently conforming products.
  • Conduct quality checks, including raw material assessments, CCP verification, and traceability exercises within allocated timeframes.
  • Proactively identify and address hazards to prevent risks to product safety, instigating non-conformance reports and driving corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with various departments to set standards, solve problems, and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitate hygiene inspections, environmental monitoring, and GMP audits as per the schedule.
  • Provide training on SOPs, hygiene, technical policies, and procedures to production teams and staff.
  • Execute routine and project-based validation of production and pre-requisite processes.
  • Collect and log product samples for testing, reviewing results to ensure compliance and communicating any non-conforming trends.
  • Produce quality performance reports to assist management in addressing and eliminating non-conformances.
  • Maintain high standards in documentation control, filing, and archiving of quality records.
  • Handle non-conforming products, ensuring appropriate review and release processes.
  • Manage calibration of measuring devices and liaise with specialist contractors and service providers.
  • Support customer, regulatory, and supplier visits and audits, ensuring compliance with appropriate safety measures.
  • Record QA/Technical meeting minutes and provide follow-up on raised issues.
  • Support the Technical Department and/or Customers as required, addressing queries, complaints, and audits.
  • Own and manage projects, ensuring completion within agreed timeframes and involving key stakeholders.
  • Develop specialist knowledge through experience, training, and project work, sharing expertise with the team through workshops and training sessions.
  • Apply Lean principles daily in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and change management.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Food Science Degree or Higher Level Education in a Scientific Food Discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in driving compliance, quality, and food safety in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and continuously improve quality systems.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards such as BRC, Regulatory, and Retailer Standards.
  • Experience working with customers, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and audits is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
  • Excellent problem solving and logical thought ability.
