Role summary

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Trainee Accountant / Accounts Technician will work in the Finance Department of the RCB in Church of Ireland House, Dublin. The scope of the role is wide and varied with a particular emphasis on investment/fund accounting. The role will work closely with the Investment Administration Manager on a day-to-day basis but will support across the Finance Department.

Specific responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assisting in monthly valuations of invested assets and monthly reconciliations
  • Liaising with external investment fund managers and custodians Instructions of fund transfers and cash transfers
  • Assisting in daily cash management
  • Other ad hoc investment/fund accounting requirements
  • Assisting the accounts payable and account's receivable function, and various month end reconciliations
  • Assisting in the preparation of the year-end financial statements
  • Liaising with auditors and other third parties
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and analysis
  • Undertaking special work assignments and research
  • Attending meetings and preparing minutes
  • Any additional ad hoc requirements to support the wider finance team
  • Other duties consistent with the job title may be assigned from time to time.

Suitable for a recently qualified/part qualified Accounting Technician or Part qualified accountant (IATI, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

Must have the right to live and work in Ireland.
