LOCATION

This role is based in Ireland. We have an office space in Dublin city centre for those who prefer a hybrid model where you can spend time with colleagues in-person. If necessary, the role can be remote within Ireland with coming together for team meetings as needed.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

We have a matrixed structure here at Hostelworld; with Growth teams comprising of people across Technology, Product, Marketing and Analytics & Insights (A&I) – all working towards one common goal with aligned objectives.

This role sits in the Customer Analytics Team reporting to the Head of Commercial Analytics. You will be aligned to our Commercial Growth teams who drive the Objectives & Key Results, day-to-day activity, and stakeholder relationships. The Customer Analytics team play a pivotal role in shaping our business through advanced analytics. Your expertise in building business forecast models and customer clustering will drive insights that inform our decision-making and help us better understand our customer base.

You will be working with best in class technology and working within a wider motivated team of data analysts, engineers and scientists.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Business Forecast Modelling: Develop and maintain robust forecasting models to predict sales trends, customer behaviour, and market dynamics. Ensure models are accurate, scalable, and adaptable to changing business environments.
  • Customer Clustering and Segmentation: Utilise advanced analytics techniques to segment our customer base into distinct clusters. Analyse customer behaviour, preferences, and demographics to identify patterns and insights.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse complex datasets to extract actionable insights. Prepare and present reports to senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, supply, and product development teams to implement analytics-driven strategies. Provide analytical support for cross-departmental projects.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve data collection and analysis processes. Implement best practices in analytics and data management.
  • Mentoring and Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts. Lead by example in analytics best practices and professional development.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years' experience in customer analytics, data science or a similar role.
  • Statistical and mathematical modelling expertise
  • Commercial awareness and drive to use data to deliver tangible business outcomes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage large quantities to data (structured & unstructured), with attention to detail, accuracy, and speed
  • Strong influencing skills, experienced at working with senior managers, and with the ability to clearly articulate complex mathematical arguments in a straightforward way
  • Desire to learn and adopt leading technologies and practices
  • Ability to work under own initiative or as part of a team
  • The willingness to adopt new tools if required
  • Relentless curiosity, creative problem-solving skills, and initiative
  • Process improvement and governance experience
  • Excellent storyboarding and presentational skills

  • Fluent English is essential (both spoken and written)
