Baker (Confectionary) Opportunity at Moriarty's Super Valu Balbriggan .

The Moriarty Group is an Irish owned company involved in both the Retail Grocery and Hospitality Industries. The company's portfolio currently comprises of three large Super Valu Supermarkets in Balbriggan and Skerries in North County Dublin and Palmerstown, Dublin 20. The company also owns two 4* Hotels, the Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan, North County Dublin and the Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, Co. Kildare. The company currently employee's approximately 550 people.

The Moriarty Group of Super Valu's are 3 of the largest Super Valu stores in the Dublin area. We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Baker (Confectionary) for our Palmerstown store.

The Role:

This a full-time positions working an average of 42.5 hours per week, 5 shifts over 7 to include weekends and public holidays. The successful candidate will work with our in-store bakery team preparing cakes and pastries for our in-store fresh foods range.

Main Duties:

  • Assisting the Head Baker in the day to day running of our busy in-store bakery department.
  • Baking novelty, birthday and celebration cakes – Priority for this role.
  • Baking Breads & small cakes.
  • Food preparation.
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2/3 years' experience as a Baker. (preferably within a bakery producing a high volume of product).
  • Must be able to make novelty cakes.
  • Must be able to make birthday/celebration cakes.
  • Must be HACCP trained.
  • Must be fluent in the English Language both written and spoken.
  • Must be enthusiastic about the department.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be willing to help out where required in all areas of the bakery dept.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Must be available for early starts and late finishes (if required).
