Our Tooling Management capability is responsible for the running of the "Integrated Developer Platform". The Platform Operations team manage our nascent Site Reliability Engineering capability.

In this role, you will:
  • Develop and implement a robust DevOps framework that promotes continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
  • Design, build, and manage the infrastructure and configuration management systems required for efficient development and deployment, including cloud platforms, servers, networks, and monitoring tools.
  • Foster collaboration and effective communication between development, operations, and other collaborators to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery. Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Implement and maintain compliant security measures and standard methodologies throughout the DevOps process
  • Identify process improvements, and implement tools and technologies to streamline operations, and reduce manual efforts.
What will make you stand out?

You have 5+ years relevant experience and have used configuration management tools like Ansible / Puppet / Chef. You have a thorough understanding of their test frameworks and a solid understanding of Jenkins and how it is used for orchestration and pipeline automation. You can evidence significant exposure to Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket;

You have excellent Linux engineering skills and can articulate experience of one or more of the cloud providers (AWS / Azure / GCP). You can automate infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates etc, is proficient in shell scripting & Python. You demonstrate the ability to create monitoring and alerting services in CloudWatch and Datadog.

You are a confident decision-maker that shows energy and enthusiasm, and is inclusive in bringing others on the journey. You can demonstrate your passion for quality and have an analytical approach to problem-solving and understanding requirements.

Environment Management Services (EMS) are a unit within the Bank's Group Technology and Customer Solutions division, responsible for the development, maintenance and operation of software testing environments. The Atlassian Tools Team and the Tooling Team within EMS are responsible for the development and operation of the collaborative tooling and CI/CD tooling across the Bank of Ireland.

This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
