## Role Overview


The Senior API Engineer will, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary delivery team, be responsible for the development of high-quality streaming solutions to support the Fiserv business processes and data analytics strategy.


What does a great Snr Software Engineer (Data Streaming) do?

  • Deliver resilient and highvolume technology solutions built in Java & Spring framework.
  • Build Industry standard and resilient Data streaming solution using technologies like Kafka and Snowflake.
  • Help in designing data pipelines which are scalable, both with new business requirements as well as data volume requirements in future.
  • Understands and develop a faulttolerant application with error handling mechanisms for minimum downtime in production.
  • Use your knowledge of coding techniques to contribute to the reliability, maintainability, readability, simplicity, performance, security(understanding of OWASP), and testability of software.
  • Work within various database technologies including both relational and nonrelational implementations (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Works with DevOps specialists to design monitoring dashboards and alerts for an effective monitoring and alerting setup for the team.
  • Provide knowledge transfer; actively support and educate internal and external team members.

What you will need to have:

  • Minimum 56 years experience in designing, developing, and implementing software applications in Agile environment.
  • Recent experience working with teams delivering with Java/Spring Frameworks, Spring Boot
  • Great knowledge of messaging Architectures including Kafka, MQ and ESB technologies.
  • 4 years handson software development experience designing, writing, debugging, and testing objectoriented code.
  • 5 years working on high volume transactional systems including performance tuning.
  • Experience with database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • An advanced understanding of pattern languages & software algorithms.
  • A high level of proficiency working with modern CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience with API integrations & performance tuning.
  • Experience with cloud technologies like Kubernetes, AWS.
  • Excellent knowledge of OAuth2, SSO, and OIDC security standard flow.
  • Excellent knowledge of API security patterns and the Security-OWASP Top 10.

What would be nice to have:

  • Financial/banking sector experience, especially knowledge of payments industry ideal (ISO8583, POS etc.) is an advantage.
  • Cloud Migration (Azure/PCF/Openshift/AWS)
  • Experience with Splunk
  • Experience with Grafana, Dynatrace etc.
  • Recent experience in developing 12 Factor cloudnative services
  • An understanding of complex IT environments, including networking, databases, security, and performance.
  • Networking: Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP).

Educational Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or other equivalent technical discipline
