What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
The Quality Systems Team Lead (QSTL) manages the International TPM Quality System in accordance with Corporate and Divisional standards to ensure TPM overall performance and compliance and also Quality and Safety compliance of AN products. With this, the successful candidate will have up to 5 direct reports and will be responsible for keeping the QS consistent and effective for its purpose.
Main Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops quality systems and skills to delight our consumer.
- Oversees the maintenance, deployment, verification of effectiveness, and modifies as needed, established Quality Assurance systems across the Abbott TPM International group.
- Works with TPMs and Abbott Division and other staff in Quality to ensure effective transfer of systems and capabilities.
- Standardizes, maintains, and continuously improves quality procedures and systems across the value chain and assures that such procedures are appropriately integrated to result in Gold Standard products while being timely and cost effective.
- Functions as primary liaison and source of expertise on quality systems within Quality.
- Assesses systems, policies and procedures to identify any quality opportunities or areas for quality system improvements that ensure the quality of products.
- Defines, develops, and implements a Metric system that drives Gold Standard performance across the Value Chain.
- Mentors and coaches team to strengthen and enhance their quality system skill set and impact to Global Quality priorities.
- Mentors and coaches to foster awareness of quality issues and promote the attainment of quality leadership skills; devises and implements methods of transferring solutions and findings to other groups within the client organization and to encourage support for and recognition of Quality initiatives and projects. Implements preventative proactive and predictive projects for products on a worldwide basis.
- Remains up-to-date on new developments in the Quality Assurance field and communicates important new findings to team.
- Ensures implementation of TPM related Quality Assurance policies and procedures generated conform to predetermined Corporate/Division standards and specifications.
- Conducts performance reviews; develops growth plans; interprets, implements and supports employee related policies, procedures and programs.
- Ensures continuous improvement of the Quality System and (Metrics) performance of the TPM portfolio.
- Assures compliance to all procedures and policies concerning all areas of quality, regulatory, safety and human resources for all departments.
- Interface with senior management and affiliates to understand key stake holder requirements and act upon same.
Education & Competencies:
- Bachelors Degree in Quality management, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Bacteriology or other technical degree is required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills/competencies with track record of success.
- Excellent communication skills are also essential for this role.
- A minimum of 3- 5 years direct experience in nutritional or allied industry is required, preferably with supervisory management background.
