Senior Structural Technician
Role Overview
As a Senior Structural Technician, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of structural engineering projects, working closely with engineers, architects, and clients.
You will be responsible for preparing high-quality technical drawings, BIM models, and construction documentation.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician looking to take on greater responsibility and leadership in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed structural drawings and BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD.
Work alongside engineers to translate design concepts into technical documentation.
Coordinate structural layouts with other disciplines, including architectural and MEP teams.
Review and mark up design drawings, ensuring compliance with project standards.
Assist with project delivery from concept to construction stage.
Mentor and support junior technicians within the team.
Ensure project deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
Attend coordination meetings, both in-house and with external stakeholders.
Contribute to the development and implementation of BIM processes and standards.
Requirements
Minimum of 7+ years' experience as a structural technician in a consultancy environment.
Proficient in Revit (essential), AutoCAD, and other industry-standard software.
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and detailing.
Experience across a variety of building types and construction methods.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage workload independently while collaborating within a team.
Familiarity with Irish and UK Building Regulations and Eurocodes.
BIM Level 2 experience and understanding of Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as BIM 360 is desirable.
A relevant qualification in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Higher Certificate, Diploma).
