Overview
Senior Financial Accountant (Grade VIII) at St Michael's House.
The role supports financial operations, with a focus on accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and strategic financial planning.
Collaborative work with across departments, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities
Assist in the day-to-day operations of the finance function.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including management accounts, activity reports, and performance metrics.
Support the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
Manage cash flow forecasting and banking/treasury functions.
Review and enhance internal financial controls and procedures.
Collaborate with ICT on finance system upgrades and implementations.
Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
Contribute to risk management and quality assurance frameworks.
Person Specification
Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 to 4 years experience in a similar role.
Skills & Competencies
Strong proficiency in financial systems and MS Excel.
Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and manage multiple priorities.
High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Public sector experience is advantageous.
Conditions of Employment
Annual Leave: 30 days per annum (pro-rata).
Sick Leave: As per contract and attendance policy.
Salary: Commensurate with Grade 8 scale and experience.
