Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH)Dental Hygienist (Dental Oncology) – Permanent & Full-Time (10 session per week)The Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH) is seeking to recruit a Dental Hygienist in Dental Oncology (Full-time, permanent post) in the Division of Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology.This contract is based on 37 hours per week.The role reports to the Consultant in Dental Oncology, the Head of the Division, and the Dental Executive.The successful candidate will be required to provide 10 sessions weekly, Monday to Friday inclusive.This will be in the Dublin Dental University Hospital in Lincoln Place, Dublin 2.Additionally, there will be dental hygiene outreach clinics developed at the radiation oncology treatment units in the Greater Dublin Area.Outline of Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe role will require the candidate to:Provide high-quality periodontal care and maintenance for patients pre- and post-oncology treatment for head and neck cancer.Deliver specialised oral healthcare services to patients receiving oncology treatment for head and neck cancer in radiation centres.Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of dentists, radio-oncologists, head and neck nurse specialists, dieticians and speech and language therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.Educate and support patients with head and neck cancer on oral hygiene practices / preventive strategies, promoting long-term dental health.Qualifications, Experience & Person SpecificationEssential requirements:A Diploma in Dental Hygiene.Registration as a Dental Hygienist with the Dental Council of Ireland.A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience in a variety of clinical settings within Dentistry.Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to undertake relevant training.Desirable experience/skills:Previous experience treating patients with head and neck cancerExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.Have the ability to work in a team.Have experience teaching members of the dental team.Have proven organisational, administrative, analytical and problem-solving skills; be able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions.Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities independently.Have the ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage a number of projects.Closing Date for applications is noon on Friday 17th October ****In-person interviews to be scheduled the week of the 20th of October ****.Interested candidates should upload a CV and cover letter to HiveHive.Informal enquiries can be directed through Prof. Lewis Winning, Head of Division of Restorative Dentistry & Periodontology at email: ****** or call on ***********.For any HR queries, please contact Simion Tita at email ****** / *********.Offers are subject to Garda Vetting, References, Dental Council Registration, Hep B Status levels and CPD in various HSEland Training Programmes.The Dublin Dental Hospital is an equal opportunities employer.#J-*****-Ljbffr
