About the CompanyChildrens Care Ireland is a family run company with over 30 years' experience in the delivery of care and support.Quality is at the heart of everything that we do.We place immense value in our staff and support them through ongoing training, development, and routes for progression.Children's Care Ireland aim become to become innovators in the field of children's residential care, setting higher standards to enhance and improve the lives of each and every child in our care.Our homes are modern and homely and provide the optimum environment for the delivery of empathetic care and support.Join us as we establish our Children's Care Service and raise the bar in the provision of children's care.The roleWe are opening a new centre for separated children seeking international protection residential centre in Collon Co Louth which will provide accommodation services for children.The support worker will be responsible for providing high quality care as part of a team in a safe and therapeutic environment in accordance with Ann's policies and procedures.Call our team today on or select apply now and we will be in touch if you meet our requirements.What you can expectHighest paid rates in children's residential€300 quarterly bonus paid in a voucher if no sickness during the periodHigher rate for a SundayPaid training and inductionAnnual pay reviewExcellent career progression including social care leader programmeFamily run company that believes in doing the small things rightDedicated and competent management teamEach of homes are finished to a very high standard (check our webpage)Continuous training and developmentFree meals in the homes when on shiftTeam building daysEssential criteria:Full clean driving licenceAbility to work in regulated activity, care for and supervise young peopleFlexible – willing and able to adapt to changing circumstances and shift patternsQualifications:A recognised QQ1 certificate qualification in a health and social care related subject:Level 5/6 Social CareLevel 5/6 Social Studies / Social ScienceLevel 5/6 Health and Social CareLevel 5/6 CounsellingLevel 5/6 Youth and CommunityLevel 5/6 Addiction / Substance MisuseLevel 5/6 Family SupportLevel 5/6 Disability StudiesLevel 5/6 Early Childhood Studies (As appropriate)Level 5/6 Pre-NursingLevel 5/6 Custodial CareLevel 5/6 PsychologyLevel 5/6 Special Needs AssistantLevel 5/6 HealthcareResponsibilities of the RoleTo work directly with the young people in a home like setting, developing a therapeutic, professional, and caring relationship to ensure that their physical, psychological, social, and emotional needs are met.Accompany the young people to appointments, meetings, holidays and outings where appropriate.To work in partnership with the young people and their families/ significant others to build, maintain and support relationships where appropriate.To assist in the development of educational plans and support participation in recreational activities.To participate in daily handovers,team meetings, care planning meetings/ looked after review meetings and other meetings as required.Ensure any relevant information pertaining to the young people is appropriately handed over to colleagues / management during handovers and before the end of your shift.Undertake key worker responsibilities ensuring that young person's files are kept up to date, appropriate information is in place, be a key contact for that young person's network such as their social workers, teachers, guardians and family where appropriate.Managing and overseeing daily petty cash ensuring proper recording of receipts, safe keeping of monies and any other valuables within the home.To comply with relevant health and safety including fire safety policy and proceduresParticipate in training and continued professional development through probation and appraisals.To foster good working relationships with professionals from other disciplines and agencies.To keep accurate and up to date records and reports in respect of individual young people and the daily activities of the home.Inform line management of any concerns you may have in relation to the welfare of the young people and any safeguarding concerns you may have in relation to the young people.Report any concerns in relation to the behaviours or conduct of other staff to line management.To carry out general housework and preparation of meals, involving the children as appropriate.This job description is not definitive or restrictive and should be regarded as providing guidelines within which the post holder will work.It will be subject to periodic review in order to ensure it continues to meet the future needs of Ann's Childrens Care
