Your new companyOur client, a leading global medical device company, is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join their Galway site on a 12-month contract.This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-impact EHS program in a dynamic and regulated environment.Your new roleLead the implementation and maintenance of ISO*****:**** standards in collaboration with external vendors.Act as Subject-Matter Expert (SME) for Industrial Hygiene and EHS software/data management systems.Conduct Occupational Hygiene Risk Assessments and coordinate monitoring activities.Manage chemical safety, including SDS database accuracy and chemical register updates.Oversee Emergency Response Planning, contractor management, and permit-to-work processes.Deliver monthly EHS metrics reports and lead bi-monthly EHS team meetings.Provide and develop training in areas such as Chemical Awareness, Manual Handling, EHS Induction, and Contractor Safety.Perform audits, walkdowns, and program reviews to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.What you'll need to succeedA third-level qualification in Science, Engineering, or EHS.Minimum 5 years' experience in EHS, ideally within MedTech or Pharma.Strong knowledge of EHS legislation and best practices.Excellent communication and reporting skills.Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and dashboard creation.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call Pawel Jurkiewicz onIf this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Hays Ireland is a trading division of Hays Specialist Recruitment (Ireland) Limited and acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.By applying for this job you accept the T&C's, Privacy Policy and Disclaimers which can be found
