School Caretaker

OverviewThe Board of Management of Holy Family S.N.S invites applications for the position of Permanent School Caretaker (35 hour week- negotiable).The successful applicant must be able to work the hours during times agreed by the Principal/Board of Management which includes alternating 'earlies' and 'lates' with the caretaker of the Junior school next door (7.30am to 2.30pm or 10am to 5pm)They must be able to take up the position as soon as possible.RequirementsIdeally, applicants will:Have general maintenance skillsHave an understanding of caretaking dutiesBe willing to work cooperatively with school staff and managementDutiesDuties will include:Inspections of premisesGeneral school repairsMaintenance of buildings (internal and external)Development and maintenance of school grounds and green areasMaintenance of furniture and fittingsLiaising with external contractors where relevantOpening/closing of school (including Holy Family J.N.S. in collaboration with the caretaker of the Junior School)Keyholder and alarm dutiesManagement of disposal of wasteThere is an initial probationary period of 6 months.Training and VettingThe successful candidate should:(either have completed or agree to undertake this training on appointment)A Safe Pass And any other relevant training.Satisfactory Garda Vetting is necessary before appointment - it may be possible to bring starting date forward depending on length of time it takes for garda vetting to be completed.The successful candidate must also uphold the ethos of the school.ApplicationPlease email a letter of application and Curriculum Vitae including copies of relevant certificates and details of at least 2 referees to the Chairperson of the Board of - see email address below.Candidates may be shortlisted by reference to their application and C.V.Interviews are proposed for Tuesday 21st October ****.The closing date for applications is Thursday the 9th of October ****#J-*****-Ljbffr
