Overview For all informal enquiries please contact Details of Service Cavan General Hospital is an acute general hospital incorporating an Obstetric Consultant Led Unit and a Midwifery Led Unit. The hospital provides maternity and gynaecological services primarily to the catchment areas of counties Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Longford and North Meath. The Obstetric department provides: Antenatal bookings and return antenatal clinics. Outreach bookings and return antenatal clinics. Maternity day ward facility. Antenatal and Postnatal Parent craft Education. Breastfeeding support and advice. Antenatal in-patient care. Low and High risk intra-partum care including 24 hour epidural service. Postnatal care for mothers and babies. Special care baby unit. Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit and Gynaecological Services. Obstetric ultrasound scanning. Essential Criteria Candidates must have at the latest date for receipt of applications for the post: Be registered in the Midwives Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered And Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role Note: Post holders must maintain annual registration with Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland) Related Attachment Staff Midwife Job Specification CavMon
