Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated, technically savvy Fiber Engineer to help develop and scale one of the world's largest and most complex networks.
Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and time management skills.

As a Fiber Engineer, you will have the exciting opportunity to design fiber solutions and maintain records surrounding our fiber optic infrastructure using GIS and associated tools.
Interface with internal (Data Center Engineering, Business Developers, Deployment Engineers, Tool Automation) and external stakeholders (Construction Vendors, Engineering Firms).
Create engineering design and documents, single line drawings, cable routing, and splicing work packages in a GIS system.
Ingest and audit GIS data for completeness and accuracy.
Optimize processes to improve efficiency and delivery.
Willing to travel 10% of the time.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in Fiber Engineering.
- 2+ years experience working in GIS Systems.
- 2+ years experience in project/program management with a proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
- 2+ years of data, inventory, or records management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using GE Smallworld in GIS applications
- BS or MS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.
